Introduction
L&M Survey Services provide a total solution for river, harbour and inshore projects, including river cross-sections, river long sections, reservoir monitoring surveys and flood risk assessments. Combining our total stations and GPS with digital echo-sounding equipment to accurately survey river and sea beds, our hydrographic surveying services have been used by government agencies, port authorities and consulting engineers.
Case Study
L&M were commissioned by national civil engineering contractor Edmund Nuttall to provide hydrographical surveys near Stromferry, Banawe and Sconser, in the north west of Scotland. With poor road connections in the area, the client wanted to assess the option of building temporary piers for shipping in the materials required for major civil engineering works onshore.
The hydrographical surveys had to determine the seabed level along the full length of each project and for a distance of up to 500m from the high water mark. Despite difficult environmental conditions, the surveys were delivered on time and within the client’s budget.
