Introduction
L&M Survey Services provide a full quarry and mineral survey service including assessment of mineral reserves, quarry planning, mineral royalty surveys for landowners and quarry operators, quarry update surveys, 3D modelling, stock surveys, laser scanning of quarry faces and the monitoring and quantification of overburden excavations.
Case Study
L&M have been the sole providers of quarry services to Glenrothes-based Skene Group for over 16 years. During this time we have provided surveying services, reserve assessments, quarry design and planning application works for their quarries in Fife, East Lothian and Stirlingshire.
Skene’s primary quarry throughout this period has been Lomond Quarry in Leslie, Fife, for which we have prepared and submitted 5 successful planning applications including applications to extend the quarry and re-design the phasing of the extraction, infill and restoration processes. Other schemes designed and implemented include restoration proposals and importation of inert material to assist the infilling of the void space.
Additional works include ongoing reserve assessment to assist with programming and budgeting, stock control surveys, quarry update surveys and clerk of work duties to monitor the quarry progress in relation to planning conditions.
